Does the Registration fee include everything?
Brantwood’s registration fee of $300-$1,250 covers food, housing and all program-related costs. The only additional fees are for transportation ($75 one time fee per Camper) from the Katonah NY, Jersey City NJ, or Boston Area.
Is there a deadline?
Brantwood Camp accepts registration forms on a rolling basis but all forms must be received by June 1. Brantwood will accept forms for a particular session until that session is full. Sessions fill quickly and we encourage all families to register online as soon as possible to ensure that your camper gets into a slot. In the past, all three sessions for boys and girls have been full as early as May.
How old are Brantwood campers?
Brantwood campers must be between 10 and 15 years old in order to be eligible for enrollment.
How do I request scholarship?
Brantwood is committed to providing scholarship funds to any camper family that makes a request. The scholarship form is part of the registration packet and should be completed and submitted when you send your child’s packet to Brantwood.
What is a Sponsor?
A Sponsor is any organization, school or individual that is interested in connecting families to Brantwood Camp. Brantwood currently works with approximately 50 Sponsors who actively work together with Brantwood to enroll campers. Sponsors are not required to pay any fees for the campers they enroll, though some do pay all or part of the registration fee.
Where do I find a Sponsor if I do not have one?
If you do not have a Sponsoring agency or individual, it is not necessary to find one. Campers are able to enroll at Brantwood independently.
Can I send my child’s medical/physical forms later?
Yes, please complete and submit as much of the registration packet as you can initially, and send your child’s medical forms in as soon as you can following his/her appointment. Many families have to wait for an appointment and we do not want that wait to delay your child’s enrollment. The medical forms are available for download here.

What happens if the session I requested for my child is full?
Session capacity is viewable during the registration process online. If the session you wish to enroll your child in is full, you are welcome to add your child to the wait list! You will then have the option of choosing another session that is not full or being on the waiting list for the session that is full.
What are my chances of getting into a session from the waiting list?
The probability of being placed into a session from the waiting list is difficult to determine, as a slot becoming available is dependent on another camper dropping out, and this often happens at the last minute. Brantwood does everything possible to fill a slot as soon as we are notified that another camper will not be attending by calling the families on the waiting list.
Where is Brantwood Camp located?
Brantwood Camp is a 350 acre property that includes fields, trails, woods, and beautiful New England stonewalls. The property is physically located in the two towns of Greenfield and Peterborough, NH. For GPS and Internet mapping directions, you must use Greenfield, NH as the location, however our mail is delivered to a PO Box in the town of Peterborough.
Can I request that my child be placed in a cabin with a friend or relative?
Cabin placement requests are welcome but are not guaranteed. There are a wide variety of considerations that go into cabin placements and we appreciate your understanding.
Is there laundry service available?
There is limited laundry service available during the session, usually only once per Term. Please refer to the packing list for a list of recommended items to pack for Camp.
Are cell phones or other electronics allowed at Camp?
A residential camp experience is a unique opportunity for your child to improve his/her confidence and ability to be independent in a safe and supervised environment. An important part of our commitment to your child is to minimize distractions so that each camper can fully focus on the Brantwood program, activities, and opportunities to build relationships with the staff and the other campers. Cell phones and other electronics often create significant distractions from the camp community and they are therefore prohibited from Camp.
How do I communicate with my child while they are at Camp?
Brantwood encourages families and campers to write letters to communicate with each other during sessions. Brantwood picks up mail from our PO Box in Peterborough and hands letters and packages out to campers at lunch each day. Letters that campers write to family and friends are dropped off at the Post Office daily.
What address do I use to send mail and/or packages?
Mail and packages that are being sent through the Post Office should be mailed to:

Where will my camper sleep?
Upon arrival to Camp, campers are assigned to a cabin and this is where they will sleep while at Camp. The boys’ campus and girls’ campus both split campers up by age to create younger side of Camp for the Juniors (11, 12 and younger 13 year olds) and an older side of Camp for the Seniors (older 13 year olds, 14 and 15 year olds). Each cabin houses between 9 and 11 campers and 2 staff members who are assigned to live in that cabin for the duration of the session. What are meals like?
Brantwood is committed to providing nutritious and delicious meals to our campers. Meals at Brantwood are served family style and they exceed the minimum standards set by the USDA for portions and quality of fruits, vegetables, grains, meats and other healthy meal choices made available to campers. Brantwood also emphasizes good manners and the opportunity for conversation around the table as part of the meal-time experience.
What are the activities my child will be participating in?
The activities at Brantwood include a variety of sports (basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, kickball and more), swimming, hiking, team-building, ropes course challenges, nature-based activities and special events created by the staff each summer. Brantwood’s program is built around a friendly competition where each cabin, or team, of campers is competing against the other cabins in order to earn points in the four pillars of Camp; Athletics, Spirit, Challenges and Inspection. What is Chapel?
Brantwood is proud of it’s 100+ year history that includes being founded by an Episcopal Minister, Reverend Donald Browne, out of the Boston area. While Brantwood no longer has a specific focus on any particular religion, the part of the day called Chapel still exists. In it’s current form, Chapel is a time of day where all campers and staff gather together to sing a song and talk about Brantwood’s Five Ideals (Honesty, Loyalty, Unselfishness, Good Sportsmanship, and Cooperation), as well as other values that help us all contribute as positive members of the Camp community and the world outside of Camp.
What should I pack for camp?

Some Items to consider:
- Sleeping bag, blankets, pillow and pillowcase
- Clothing for 16 days including underwear, socks, t-shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, warm jacket, long pants, etc.
- Swimsuits and towels, Brantwood recommends at least 2 of each
- Rain gear (jacket, poncho, rainboots)
- Sturdy sneakers (2 pairs if possible)
- Toiletries, including toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, soap, shampoo, etc.
- Flashlight and batteries
- Disposable Camera
- Day backpack and water bottle
- Writing materials (paper, pencils, pens, envelopes, stamps)
- $20-$25 to spend at the Camp Store
- Hat or bandana
- Insect repellent (no aerosols please)
On the last night of each session, Brantwood holds a Prize Night for the campers. Many campers choose to dress up for this event so campers may wish to pack one nice outfit/dress Prize Night.
What should I leave at home?
These items are not permitted in the camper living areas or storage and will be collected for safe keeping for the duration of a session. Brantwood Camp is not responsible for any loss or damage incurred to the below mentioned items if they are brought to Camp.

- Non-medical electronics of ANY kind including but not limited to: cellphones, iPads, video games, Ereaders, Tablets, etc
- Cigarettes, Cigars, and/or vaping supplies
- Jewelry or Sentimental Items (especially things with monetary value)
- Hair Spray or Perfume
- Hair Dryer, Curling Iron, Straightener
- Aerosols
If any of the following items are brought to Camp, the Camper will be sent home immediately:
- Alcohol
- Drugs
- Weapons of any kind
What are some packing tips?
Brantwood Camp provides laundry services once per term, and has laundry on site when needed, but please pack enough for 16 days. Storage space is limited so only bring items that you will need. It is recommended that campers pack a variety of clothing keeping in mind that there will be hot weather, cooler weather, and potentially rainy weather!
How can I protect my belongings?
Brantwood Camp recommends that all clothing and items that you bring to camp be labeled with your name. Brantwood makes every reasonable effort to return belongings that are left behind at Camp and on buses to the correct owner, but Brantwood is not able to guarantee the return of all left behind pieces of clothing, luggage, or other personal belongings. Brantwood Camp is not able to incur the expense of mailing left behind articles and will only ship articles back to their owner as Cash on Delivery (COD).
To avoid leaving your belongings behind please be sure to check the Lost and Found at Camp before you leave and to check that you have all of your luggage, sleeping bags, pillows, backpacks, etc. before leaving the drop off locations on the last day of Camp.
Brantwood does not keep any left behind items for more than 7 days.
